Shona Cowie

I am a story teller and movement practitioner who uses the whole body to share and explore narrative. My research aims to readdress perceptions that mind and body are separate and opposing entities. I use physical performance, educational and cultural encounters to promote recognition that it is with our whole body that we experience the world and so it is with our whole body that we think, research and create. I trained with the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and L’Ecole Jaques Lecoq. In Paris, I worked as a family and children’s docent in the Louvre Museum, then went on to build performance and education company, Teatro Fosforo, in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I am part of Senza an international theatre collective who combine ethnographic research and performance. I moved my base back to South West Scotland at the beginning of 2017.
