Natalia Barua and Monika Smekot will use the residency to initiate research for a new video performance installation for parents/carers and their very/young children.

"We want to research and test a performance experience that nurtures and inspires the constantly changing needs of babies and young children whilst parents are considered beyond the lens of their child's enjoyment. We ultimately want to create an environment where parents can perform all of the necessary duties of care and nurture without leaving the creative space - organically transforming and reframing the mundanity and routine of care into an act of performance itself. A space which accommodates comfortable feeding, changing, settling, rocking and rest but also play and creative stimulation for the child and their carer."
