The Work Room Artist Residency Call Out

July to December 2023

Deadline: 11.04.2023
Published: 20.02.2023
Applications are closed for this residency opportunity.

Deadline midnight 11.04.2023

At the heart of The Work Room is our programme of supported, choreographic residencies. These are for members to explore ideas and projects through experimentation and creative processes, from research through to production, according to the needs and requirements of each artist. The Work Room is committed to ensuring an expansive range of artists and artistic practices are resourced and recognised across all of our work.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have initiated processes of reviewing, adapting and making adjustments to all aspects of our programme and artist support. Following our learning – particularly through the Artist’s Research Bursaries – and because we understand flexibility is key to members in the challenging circumstances of today, we are continuing to experiment with simpler and more responsive approaches to residencies.

In this call out we continue to welcome proposals that might be undertaken ‘at home’ or spaces closer to where you live, residency time that is flexible around caring responsibilities and other commitments, as well as supporting research in an outdoor environment.

We have also reduced the number of questions you will need to respond to in your application.

This deadline of midnight Tuesday 11 April is for residencies for the period from July to December 2023.

TWR Artist Residency programme is only open to members, for more details on becoming a member see here.
