The Work Room Artist Residency Call Out  | February – June 2024

Apply on or before Monday 2 October 2023

At the heart of The Work Room is our programme of supported, choreographic residencies. These are for members to explore ideas and projects through experimentation and creative processes, from research through to production, according to the needs and requirements of each artist.

Founded 15 years ago, by artists whose practices and perspectives reflect the diversity of what dance and human experience can be, our core values are Generosity, Inclusion and Experimentation. The Work Room is committed to ensuring an expansive range of artists and artistic practices are resourced and recognised across all our work.

Since the Covid-19 pandemic began we have been adjusting our programme and artist support offer accordingly. Knowing that flexibility is key for members in the challenging circumstances of today, we are continuing to offer simpler and more responsive approaches to residencies.  In this call out we continue to welcome proposals that might be undertaken ‘at home’ or in spaces closer to where you live, residency time that is flexible around caring responsibilities and other commitments, as well as supporting research in an outdoor environment. The number of questions you will need to respond to in your application has also been reduced.

Monday 2nd October 2023 at midnight is the deadline for residencies from February to June 2024.
