Barrowland Ballet and The Work Room are committed to supporting the thriving ecology of dance in Scotland. Together, we have launched the Recent Dance Graduate programme with the aim of supporting and nurturing emerging talent; providing three recent dance graduates with a package of supported including free membership to The Work Room, free access to Professional Contemporary Class and mentoring sessions with Barrowland Ballet’s Artistic Director, Natasha Gilmore.

We’re thrilled to introduce our three Recent Dance Graduates for 2019/2020:

Anya Bowcott

“As a performance-maker who is particularly interested in developing a choreographic practice, this programme will be so beneficial as I get the opportunity to engage in weekly dance classes, allowing me to build on my technique and movement vocabulary. I wanted to be part of this programme to continue to learn after graduating, learn through moving my body and this, alongside one-to-one mentoring sessions, is going to be extremely encouraging and motivating!”

Amber Dollin

“I know the value of having like minded people around you, I wanted to take the  opportunity to immerse myself in the ever growing network of diverse artists and become part of the community. I hope that I can use this experience to develop and rediscover myself as a dance artist.”

Jennifer Steele

“I’ve recently moved back to Scotland after studying contemporary dance in the Netherlands for four years. The opportunity to connect with the Scottish dance community via this great programme from Barrowland Ballet and The Work Room, gives me the platform to continue to explore and develop my artistry as a young performer.”
