Sze Wan NG

I am a contemporary dance artist originally from Hong Kong, where I received my dance training. Additionally, I had the opportunity to study dance in The Netherlands. Throughout my life, I have had the privilege of residing in Africa and Asia, where I had the opportunity to collaborate not only with esteemed artists but also with underprivileged children and individuals with diverse abilities. These experiences, enriched by exposure to different cultures, have led me to my current base in France.

My artistic pursuits revolve around exploring and creating dance within specific environments and thematic contexts. I frequently incorporate movable installations into my choreographies, seeking to delve into the intricate relationship between the five senses and dance. By pushing the boundaries and embracing limitations, I strive to uncover new possibilities in my creative work, often focusing on the deconstruction and reconstruction of both body and mind. Improvisation serves as a vital component of my personal practice, study, and performance.

In recent years, I have ventured into the realm of short dance films, utilizing this medium to further experiment and express my artistic vision. Additionally, I have embarked on a journey of self-taught illustration, allowing me to explore yet another avenue of creative expression.
