I run a visual theatre company, Jabuti Theatre, as artistic director, producer, manager, director and performer, sometimes, but not always all at the same time! I come from a background in puppetry; having been brought up by a family of puppeteers it's something I have been working with all my life. My interest is in cross-artform theatre. I like to mix dance and movement with puppetry and my training in aerial-dance as well. I have created 3 Creative Scotland funded productions - 2 for children and 1 for adults - which all mix movement, physical theatre, puppetry and aerial-dance in one form or another. I am currently working on a new show which will tour in autumn 2018, called Paper Memories, on the subject of migration and displacement, using aerial, dance and object manipulation.
As well as creating, I also perform for other people and can offer my input and experience as an outside eye into development processes and rehearsals.
I am constantly looking to develop my practice, my connections with others who work with dance and movement, and grow as a creator, director and performer.
