Evie Waddell

I am a multidisciplinary performer/creator who works in contemporary dance, Scottish step dance, singing and British Sign Language (BSL) and I'm interested in exploring movement that is influenced by my own minority languages: Gaelic, BSL and Scots and the cultural practices and context that comes with them.
I studied contemporary dance at The Space in Dundee, and much of my practice, movement and inspiration relates to my deafness (since the age of 11). I am also influenced by the many lively ceilidh and traditional music intergenerational gatherings I grew up around.
