Alena Ageeva
I'm Alena Ageeva, Edinburgh based dance artist and performer graduated as physical theatre director.
The main directions of my research are site-specific dance performances, interaction/participatory practices and inclusive dance. My creative method is based on dance improvisation, somatic approach, Butoh. I had my own physical theatre company (PosleSlov) and we brought three shows at the Fringe in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
For the last five years I've been working as an independent dance artists and have been developing dance approach to museum study and practiced multi-sensory guided walks in art spaces. These tours (dance art-mediations) are based on personal physical and emotional experience from visiting a museum and interacting with art objects through movement improvisation, somatic practices and dance. I also led the sensory/dance walks in the city spaces exploring “the mundane” as a source of inspiration. I would like to introduce these practices for the Scottish audiences and deepen and expand it here.
You can find more information about my practice and experience in my portfolio here: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1bV1ZT3xoL0wpPd61KUXqKbEk2RpY10vwkXcKwhVpim0/edit?usp=sharing
