About IETM October 2020: What Matters Now?

On 1-2 October, the very first IETM Multi-location Plenary Meeting will combine simultaneous participation in IETM's online programme as well as in on-site programmes prepared by local IETM members in more than 20 locations across the globe. The aim is to define, all together, What Matters Now for the performing arts.

The local Plenary meeting in Scotland, UK, will be hosted by IETM member The Work Room. The local meeting is open to both IETM members and non members but registration is mandatory.

About IETM: Local Meeting in Scotland

As we are still limited in how we can gather inside in Scotland, our invitation is to connect with the IETM programme virtually from your own space and also to create reflective space around this.

The Work Room is collaborating with IETM members across Scotland to create moments on the Friday morning to gather, and walk outside – with others or individually. For many of us, lockdown re-ignited our relationship with outdoors and green spaces in our neighbourhoods. We will use the practice of walking to reflect on localism and our international connections.

Covid-19 Regulations.

Given current travel and gathering restrictions, the meeting will focus on gathering the Scottish performing arts community. We encourage international participants to choose another location or to follow the content online.

We will adhere to current Scottish Government guidelines in planning the walks on Friday 2 October and manage the numbers in groups gathering accordingly. Currently this allows for people from a maximum of 5 different households to gather out-of-doors (up to a maximum of 15 people). We are aware that this is a fluid situation so will monitor and adjust our approach accordingly if needed.

Accessibility

In order to meet the needs as much as possible, IETM collect your access requirements when you create your account and register for the meeting. Speech-to-text captioning is guaranteed the entire global IETM online programme. The Scotland Zoom Social will have BSL interpretation and live captioning. For the local Walk and Talk events, access may vary. For questions regarding the overall accessibility of the local meeting in Scotland, email IETM Production Officer at francisca.salgueiro@ietm.org.
