Mabel Blair Triptych

Mabel Blair joins us for a 1 week residency, worked flexibly.

Mabel is in residency developing choreography for a new short dance film entitled Triptych, based on the spoken word piece ‘Triptych: Three Ways of Looking at the Moon’. Split into three sections the work will use movement to explore the female relationship with the Moon, looking at themes of birth, death and the sea as a metonym for the moon’s power, and its influence over our female ‘bodies of water.

Mabel will use her residency time to develop work that connects deeply with these themes and draws on rhythms, repetition and syntax in the spoken text. She will create choreography that forms the basis of a film, but is also transferable into a piece of live performance.
