Saffy Setohy The Garden Series

The Garden Series is a collaborative outdoor choreographic investigation between dance artists Saffy Setohy and Claire Pençak, exploring our sensory engagement with plant life. After a day in the studio, Saffy and Claire will be working in the Gartnavel Hospital Gardens engaging with communities of plants and people, devising movement scores that encourage a patient engagement with the gardens. In touching plants, we are given access to their roots and to the soil. They take us down with them into the earth, opening up ways for us to become more earthly.
This residency builds on a Dance Base supported residency in November 2022, working in the Cyrenians Community Gardens in the grounds of Royal Edinburgh Hospital.
