Shotput will use this residency to take the first steps toward a new work that incorporates dance, writing, and cassette tapes. While the content of the piece is part of the exploration, we are starting by using the relationship between siblings to examine metaphoric and found families, contested histories, and memory. During this first residency week, Shotput will be working with artist Rob Willoughby to explore the potential avenues for sound within the work. 

This is the first week of a 2 week residency with SHOTPUT returning to the studio in November for a further week of exploration.
