Thomas Baylis R&D “Not Us But The Monster”
"Not Us But The Monster” is a new live work created in collaboration with dance artists Katie Armstrong and Thomas Baylis.
Not Us But The Monster will comprise elements of movement, sound composition and film inspired by the people, natural and cultural history, and possible futures of the city of Aberdeen and the surrounding seas. The work will be a response to the land and seascape, local ecosystems (their destruction and precarious symbiosis with human development), climate breakdown and it's political and cultural fallout, and the industries, which are, have been and may become central to life in the North East. During their two week remote and in person residency, Katie and Thomas will explore initial ideas around movement for this new work.
