Laura Fisher

Laura Fisher returns to TWR studio for the second week of a staggered residency this Summer. During this time, they will return to developing their Unlimited commission work FORGED (in the tender heat of your embrace) alongside collaborators Thulani Rachia, Zephyr Liddell, and Hannah Draper.

~ let me take you weight ~ can I lean on you today? ~ is that okay?

FORGED (in the tender heat of your embrace) is a durational performance installation for gallery spaces and a temporary site for collective rest which holds the live archive of an ongoing choreographic collaboration between artist Laura Fisher and seven sheets of copper metal.

Laura and collaborators will be developing the live performance element of the project, with a focus on dramaturgy and structure.

During this week Laura will also offer two public workshops (online & in person) as part of their residency, sharing their movement practice “Score for A Sore and Tired Body” with members of TWR and beyond. See more here.

FORGED (in the tender heat of your embrace) is commissioned and supported by Unlimited, celebrating the work of disabled artists, with funding from Dave Toole OBE Bursary Fund and Creative Scotland. Supported by the National Lottery through Creative Scotland.  Supported by Dance Base, The Work Room’s residency programme and Studio Somewhere.
