Laura Fisher

Over these staggered residency days, Laura will be taking time to slowly ease back into their body and reconnect with physical practice and creative projects, after a period of serious illness last year. They will use the time to gently allow seeds of new ideas to begin to grow, and to revisit and re-encounter previous research and performance material from FORGED (in the tender heat of your embrace) to understand how it now sits in and with the body, ahead of the project moving into development later in the year. The residency contributes to ongoing /unfolding research questions in Laura’s practice around how to choreograph on a body in flux and ways to carve out sustainable practice which centre wellbeing, outside of healing.

Laura looks forward to returning to The Work Room with their collaborators in August, to commence development of FORGED through their second residency week. In August, Laura will also offer two public workshops (online & in person) as part of her residency, sharing her movement practice “Score for A Sore and Tired Body” with members of TWR and beyond.
