Lewis Normand Hallelujah Junction

The work is set to and inspired by ‘Hallelujah Junction’, a piece for two pianos by John Adams. The music is in three movements, each distinct in mood, shifting between joyous, tender and tense. The choreography attempts to reflect the complex textures and atmospheres of the music with an ensemble of five dancers. Recognising the structures within the musical score (or learning to!), as well as its rich drama, we will use this as a frame to explore a choreographic response.
