Gwynne Bilski

11—16.02.19

During her residency at The Work Room, Gwynne will begin development on a new solo work engaged in physical and visual mapping of experience with place and memory. Research for this new work will be founded in questions like how does my body remember experience of place? How can I re-inhabit, reconstruct, re-embody the experience of place? What is left of a place in my bodily-memory when I am removed from that place?

This work is being developed in relation to ongoing research into Place-Specificity in Choreographic Practice* which engages the body with conceptual and experiential elements of place, and seeks to look beyond the physicality of ‘site’. This will be the first time Gwynne applies this research toward the development of a solo work on herself autobiographical exploration of place.
