Aniela Piasecka

This residency is the beginning of an exploratory period of research into the viscera as the centre of our psycho-emotional lives and physical experiences, both pleasurable and painful, to engage participants and anticipated audiences with their own corporeality.

Driving the work is an exploration of experiences of desire, need, attraction and disgust and their physical manifestations in the body. Drawing on a series of performance, filmic and textual references I will consider attempts towards permanency of artistic endeavours alongside the fragility and finality of the corporeal.

This is the first week in a two-week residency taking place in November and December. For the second week, Aniela will work remotely at Forgan Arts Centre.
