Amy RosaAmy Rosa - Artist Research Bursary & Time Away

Amy Rosa is undertaking a remote research process supported by an Artist Research Bursary. Amy Rosa will also spend Time Away in Nethy Bridge as part of her supported research time, to develop her enquiries amongst the rich and peaceful landscape of the Cairngorm mountains.

During this research period Amy Rosa will be looking into ways of reconnecting with the body during periods of dissociation and derealisation, using sensory deprivation and immersion to pay attention to the physical experience of fatigue, pain and historical trauma. Amy Rosa will also be working on rebuilding and curating a more accessible current works website and archive space.

The Artist Research Bursaries are a new strand of support introduced by The Work Room in response to the ongoing and precarious position of freelance dance artists during the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly artist members who currently experience barriers to returning to studio practice. The bursary awards support members with flexible, remote research time to sustain and deepen their artistic practice in these uncertain times. The support is offered without a required outcome although The Work Room will support members to share or disseminate research where appropriate.
