‘UNVEILING CHOREOGRAPHIES’ Call Out For Short Dance Films

The Work Room is looking for short dance films from Scottish based artists to create a stimulating programme of dance films titled ‘Unveiling Choreographies’. The screening will take place at CCA in Glasgow on 18 October 2017, 6.30 – 8pm.

The programme will explore current themes and approaches in the genre of dance film and aims to be an opportunity to share their work in a non-competitive environment. The programme will be curated by Work Room member Monika Smekot, a Glasgow based dance / film artist.

We are interested to hear from artists across different artistic backgrounds: film, dance, visual arts and other forms who are exploring the ‘theme’ of dance/movement on screen. (We are open to interpretation of dance/movement that is not only limited to activity of the human body). Although we are looking for high quality dance films, we would like to focus on presenting innovative and bold ideas and therefore also encourage low or no budget and experimental productions.

Depending on the volume of the submissions there might be a further screening at a later date.

A small payment of will be offered towards the screening of each film and the creators will be invited to join a post-screening discussion.
