The Work Room is offering 2 or 3 bursaries to members interested in attending MAKERS in January 2024


ABOUT
MAKERS, curated by Rob Heaslip, is a Winter Intensive with some of the Scottish dance sector's foremost creative minds. Taking place at The Work Room, Glasgow across January 4, 5 & 6, 2024, from 9am to 6pm, each day includes a warm-up class led by Aya Kobayashi, followed by two 3-hour workshops.

6 artists, 6 workshops across 3 days:

CHARLOTTE MCLEAN Scottish Highland Dance: resistance, pride, shame, rain.

LUKE PELL In a series of poetic-choreographic and dramaturgical propositions.

ROB HEASLIP ​Using imagery to rethink how we move individually and collectively.

TESS LETHAM Exploring improvisational strategies that centre on crafting narratives in performance. 

DIVINE TASINDA Broaden your knowledge and understanding of African movements.

ROBBIE SYNGE Playful experiments with living and non-living entities to investigate ‘connection’.

 

SUPPORT
The Work Room bursary will cover the participation fee (£60 per person for all 3 days), plus travel and access costs for 2/3 members.

If you would like to put yourself forward for one of the bursaries, please email applications@theworkroom.org.uk by 5 pm Friday 1st December, with MAKERS BURSARY in the subject line. Bursaries will then be awarded by random selection, therefore please only include in your email:

  • that you are requesting a bursary to attend MAKERS
  • support requested in order to travel to the venue (The Work Room, Glasgow)
  • requests for additional access costs
