New Appointments at The Work Room!
We are delighted to announce two new appointments to The Work Room team.
Following a rigorous recruitment process over the summer, Moira Rae has joined us as Digital and Communications lead and in September, Laura Fisher will begin as Artists Programme Producer. These new roles will help us better support our expanding artists community and future ambitions.
"These new appointments mark a moment of transition for The Work Room as we take forward future ambitions. Sara and I are excited to have Moira and Laura joining us, bringing their ideas, perspectives and experiences to our team." - Anita Clark (Director, The Work Room)
Moira's background is in visual arts, especially socially engaged practice. Alongside her own artistic practice, she has previously worked with Public Learning Workshop, LUX, Cinenova and with RIG Arts as part of the Culture Collective. We're looking forward to having her brilliant digital expertise and design flair supporting The Work Room’s communications.
Laura has been an artist member of The Work Room since 2018. Alongside their own artistic practice, they have worked with National Theatre Scotland, Take Me Somewhere, Royal Conservatoire Scotland and with The Work Room in a freelance capacity as well as producing for a number of independent artists. We're excited that they are going to be taking on this new role and responsibilities. Laura brings skills in supporting artists through producing, access and dramaturgy along with deep understanding of choreographic research processes.
We’re looking forward to having colleagues join us in our mission to support a sustainable environment for independent dance artists; enabling high quality, thoughtful and pioneering dance to be created for diverse contexts at home and internationally. We are grateful to our trustees – Kirsty Alexander, Dorine Mugisha, Joy Parkinson and Helen McIntosh, as well as Erin Spiers (Digital Marketing Co-ordinator at Federation of Scottish Theatre), who all supported the recruitment process.
Our recent Multi-Year funding award from Creative Scotland has enabled us to create these new roles within the team.
