CROWD international dance exchange

2022 Artists Announced

By Anita Clark on 27.06.22

CROWD – international dance exchange is a collaborative network of dance organisations supporting dance makers who engage with communities as part of their practice. Following an open call earlier this year, ten dance artists have been selected to join this summer’s #CROWDdance residency programme.

Taking place across Finland, Denmark, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway and the UK between July– September, the CROWD 2022 international dance exchange residency programme is an opportunity for dance artists to explore and develop their practice in community-engaged dance by working with and learning from each other and local participants.

The Work Room is one of ten dance organisations involved and, in partnership with Tanz Faktor, Cologne, we will be hosting an exchange residency with Alex McCabe from Glasgow and Stefanie Schwimmbeck from Cologne. You can read more about the 10 dance artists involved here.

CROWD is funded by the Goethe-Institut, Arts Council England, NRW KULTURsekretariat, Nordisk Kulturfond and Creative Scotland.

Alex and Stefanie will begin their exchange in Scotland in July, with time in residence at Cove Park and at The Work Room.

See our event listing page for opportunities to connect with the project for a Sharing Moves, Exchange & Lunch at both Cove Park | 22 July & The Work Room | 28 July.

Stefanie and Alex will also lead Moving Together a relaxed, interactive and imaginative family workshop for children of all ages and their grown-ups to explore and make dance together on 23 July at Cover Park. See details here.
