The Work Room heads to Turku for STRE-TCH

By Sara Kemal on 16.08.19

In October this year, following a selection process, four The Work Room artists, Chrissie Ardill, Kathryn Spence, Emma Jayne Park & Niamh O'Loughlin will travel to Turku, Finland to attend STRE-TCH, an event part of the Keðja network’s Encounters programme.

STRE-TCH, is an international encounter welcoming dance professionals, from choreographers and dancers to producers and managers, to Finland for three days of inspiring conversations, workshops and new perspectives for working in the field of dance.

The focus of STRE-TCH is capacity building and conversations will centre around questions of sustainability in dance: what does working internationally mean in times of climate change? What does it mean to work sustainably as an artist? What can co-operation between artists and producers look like? Artists will have the opportunity to meet international colleagues from across Europe, share practice and contribute to these discussions through seminars, workshops and morning classes.

We will share some of this learning and continue the conversation with the wider The Work Room community through blog posts, articles and conversation.
