Sophie Morrison
With curiosity and compassion at the root of my practice, I have an insatiable desire to
learn from different cultures and the many approaches different artists take to
movement. I am engaging in a exchange of knowledge with Pichet Klunchen Dance Company in Thailand, funded by Creative Rework, where I am learning about the rich dance culture in South East Asia.
My current role is Dance Artist at Shaper/Caper, based in Dundee. My role
primarily covers WellGood, a performance workshop that tours 116 schools each year,
teaching Primary 5 children about the risks of addiction in an exciting and creative way.
I am also interested in making my own work, and am in the early stages of developing a duet piece, for which I am co-developing a vibrant set. The piece explores long distance relationships of all kinds through the metaphor of boat crossings.
I am a 2026/27 member of the DanceBase DEBS programme under the direction of Thomas Small.
