Simon Whitehead

As a movement artist and I have been living in rural Wales for over 25 years, working both locally and internationally. I make performances, walks and movements that attempt to reveal the woven relationships between places, people, animals and memory – work that reflects an ecological concern for the interdependence of our bodies, the things we live amongst and the more than human environments we inhabit.
Currently a Phd researcher in Dance, Performance and Ecology at Glasgow University, I am thinking about how we drift together into the Anthropocene.
I look forward to connecting with the Glasgow and Scotland-wide dance and movement community through the Work Room. I am interested in the possibilities that as movers we are ongoingly developing experiential practices and ways of being that offer ways to land on and continue to believe in the Earth.
