Simon Whitehead

As a movement artist and I have been living in rural Wales for over 30 years, working both locally and internationally. I make performances, walks and movements that attempt to reveal the woven relationships between places, people, animals and memory – work that reflects an ecological concern for the interdependence of our bodies, the beings we live amongst and the more than human worlds we inhabit.
Currently completing a practice as research PhD in Dance, Performance and Ecology at University of Glasgow, I am thinking about how we are always in touch with a moving Earth. I look forward to connecting with the Glasgow and Scotland-wide dance and movement community through the Work Room. I am interested in the possibilities that as movers we are ongoingly developing experiential practices and ways of being that remind us that we belong to the Earth.
I am a father of 2 teenage children and a Craniosacral Therapist.
