Nicolette Macleod is a singer-songwriter, composer, live improvised sound maker and physical theatre performer based in Glasgow. She writes music and performs in theatre and dance works. She also works as a workshop facilitator in professional and community settings. Nicolette has supported and sung alongside The Leisure Society, The Irrepressibles and Karine Polwart. Her vocals have been used on a number of films and in a pop setting for albums receiving prime time radio play on BBC2 and BBC6. She was a finalist at the 2009 Loop Station Championship in London where she performed an original song that later won her a recording session at The Roundhouse EMI studio.
Recently she has been involved in setting up 'Iceberg Improv' with Zoe Katsilerou, Eilon Morris and Penny Chivas. A group of professional dancers, musicians and theatre practitioners with improvisation at the heart of their practice. They have upcoming workshops and performances at the CCA and will be performing in a line up alongside 'Collective Endeavours' in spring 2018.
To show a sample of Nicolette's work; last year she wrote the musical score for and performed in 'Curious Shoes' a dementia friendly show created by Magdalena Schamberger. Toured with the childrens puppetry show 'Sir Moustache Bristleby' and composed a score for 'Unicorn' devised with Aya Kobayashi for Anjali dance company. She has recently started working on a new project with dance artist and choreographer Saffy Setohy.
