Molly Mc Alister

I am an emerging interdisciplinary dance artist, choreographer and teacher from Dublin, currently based in Edinburgh. I graduated in 2021 with a First Class BA Honours in Dance and Drama from Performing Arts Studio Scotland and Kingston University. I've spent the last year as a recipient of the DEBS Scheme for 2021/22 with Dance Base. Captivated by the intersectionality of movement, theatre, videography and visual art, my creative practice is mostly collaborative and is often multifaceted. choreographing and performing for stage performance, and integrating dance with vocals and screen- based media for various projects across Dublin, Edinburgh and Lisbon. I create multidisciplinary screen dance films that have been screened in festivals such as the Opine Dance Festival 2020- Philadelphia, USA, Lisbon Dance Platform Festival, Dublin International Film Festival, The Wicklow Screen Dance Laboratory 2018/19, and the Irish National Film School. I teach musical theatre and contemporary dance and have taught for the National Performing Arts School in Dublin for the last 8 years. I have just recently returned to Scotland from Zambia where I was teaching vulnerable children, with the NGO Barefeet Theatre.
