Molly Mc Alister

I am an emerging interdisciplinary dance artist/ choreographer from Dublin, Ireland, currently based in Edinburgh. I have just graduated in 2021 with a First Class BA Honours in Dance and Drama from Performing Arts Studio Scotland and Kingston University. Captivated by the intersectionality of movement, theatre, videography and visual art, my creative practice is mostly collaborative and is often multifaceted, grounded in the exploration of themes surrounding the body, human connection and human experience. I strive use my dance practice to challenge and question. My current dance practice has been primarily based in choreographing and performing for stage performance, dance film, site specific and integrating dance with screen- based media. I have performed and choreographed for various projects, both stage and screen, across Dublin and Lisbon. My goal for my artistic practice in general is to make choreographic work and set up my own company in the form of an interdisciplinary collaborate collective. I want to create immersive work that is socially driven and utilises the power of performance to challenge how we think about the world. I’m a firm believer that our humanity impacts our artistry, and I strive to be an artist that honours this.
