Lewis Normand

Lewis is a Scottish Dance Artist, working across performance, education and choreography. He graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with a BA in Modern Ballet in 2014.
As a dancer Lewis has performed for Artists and Companies such as, David Hughes Dance, Errol White Company, Diana Loosmore, Steinvor Palsson, Kate Haughton, Ashley Page, Scottish Opera and Company Chordelia.
Lewis works in a variety of education contexts, and cherishes sharing dance with a broad range of people including; professional and full time vocational dancers, as well as community dancers spanning; inter-generational groups, adult beginners and dance for health and wellbeing. Recent employers include, The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Barrowland Ballet, Scottish Ballet and Dance Base.
Lewis’ choreographic work has received support from Dance Base, Dance North’s Regional Artist program, and Scottish Ballet’s Choreographic Mentoring program. Lewis’ work prioritises collaboration as an essential part of the process. Live music plays a crucial role in both the performance and creation and is particularly interested in how these two elements support, influence and enrich one another throughout a process. Lewis' work ‘The Selkie”, a full length work for stage, was set to premiere at the cancelled Fringe Festival 2020, as part of Dance Base’s festival program. (https://vimeo.com/388991371)
