Lewis Normand is a Scottish born Choreographer and Performer. A graduate of The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (Modern Ballet), Lewis has danced for choreographers and companies such as, David Hughes Dance, Diana Loosmore, Steinvor Palsson, Ashley Page, Scottish Opera and Company Choredelia.

Lewis’ own work explores the realms of ballet and contemporary dance. Working within these forms, Lewis aims to use dance as a visual and intrinsically human way of sharing. He strives to express the poetry of the body; it's beauty, sensitivity and power, whilst honouring the ever-intriguing relationship between audience and viewer.

Lewis was one of 5 choreographers chosen to take part in Scottish Ballet’s Choreographic Mentoring Program with Kerry Nicholls. The outcome of this project, a work titled “Passing Flight”, was presented at Cottier’s Dance Festival (Glasgow), Heads Up, Dance Base (Edinburgh Fringe) and Live Bites, Yorkshire Dance (Leeds), throughout 2016.

Recent choreographic commissions include “Faith” for Scottish Ballet Elders Company, which was presented at Tramway, Glasgow, as part of People Dancing Conference. “Celestial Call” was created for Lothian Youth Dance Company and was performed at the Traverse Theater, Edinburgh.
