Kally Lloyd-Jones

Kally Lloyd-Jones, award winning director and choreographer, Company Chordelia's founder/Artistic Director. Her works for the company include The Seven Deadly Sins, (co-production / Scottish Opera), Dance Derby, Nijinsky's Last Jump, Lady Macbeth: unsex me here and The Chosen, which have received national critical acclaim and won Best Live Performance at the SHCA.
Born and raised in Scotland, she trained as a dancer & has an MA in English literature & Film Studies from Glasgow University.
She has worked extensively as a director, choreographer, dancer, movement director and teacher all over the UK as well as Sweden, Denmark, Spain, South Africa and Canada.
Kally has directed Katya Kabanova, Lauder and Grace Notes for Scottish Opera, The Opera Project for RCS, Hansel & Gretel (St Magnus Festival / RCS), Cavalleria Rusticana, Pearl Fishers, La boheme and L'elisir d'amore (Edinburgh Grand Opera) & The Rape of Lucretia, Eugene Onegin and Pelleas and Melisande (St Andrews Opera), Thrashing The Sea God (Joby Burgess & Tete a Tete Opera Festival), MacPherson's Rant (The Byre), Opera Scenes (RCS).
Recent movement directing work includes with the Traverse, Lyceum and Citizens Theatres, Scottish Opera, Gran Liceu (Barcelona), Glyndebourne Opera.
Kally is a member of Equity, One Dance UK, The Federation of Scottish Theatre and The Work Room.
Kally has returned to her creative work after being Joint Director of the Byre Theatre from 2019 - autumn 2023.
