Julia Taudevin

I am a performer, playwright and theatre maker. I am interested in the moment when the spoken word becomes sound. My most recent work, Blow Off, is half punk-rock-gig, half dramatic monologue. I made it in collaboration with three musicians and we perform it as a band. Inspired by the work of Kathleen Hanna and Bikini Kill, the work creates a space for female rage. Through making and performing this gig I have begun to realise that my work is highly physical although I have never classified it as such in the past. Consequently I am keen to connect with dance and movement communities to find the appropriate support as I begin to branch out into a new way of describing what I make.
