Jen Kelly

Performer, maker, facilitator and producer. I create autobiographical performance work exploring gender, mental health, and identity, responding to the shifting realities of the current political climate. A big aspect of my practice is situated in movement, choreography and physical theatre. I’m drawn to the raw, immediate nature of real-time, real-effort performance — it’s how I reclaim space and connect through emotion, expressing what’s often unsayable. My work extends beyond the stage into community performance workshops, offering spaces for participants to explore material and themes physically, collectively and through discussion.

I am Creative Director of Oddity Ensemble (2024 – ongoing) - A newly formed experimental and devising theatre group based in Glasgow who have been meeting and playing regularly for the past 18 months. Collaborating weekly through shared practice, play, research and performance-making within an open environment. Oddity Ensemble is a community of artists practically reimagining how we make, build, and perform with one another. We engaged in a R&D residency at Mull Theatre (2025) and are currently devising our debut performance 'Collection of Oddities'

I am Co-founder of Wee Move (2024 – ongoing) - A spontaneous improvisation-based movement event that creates a supportive space for experimentation and collaboration.
The project operates both as a skills-development workshop for artists and as a public performance event. The event has been hosted at Some Great Reward as part of the Govanhill International Festival & Carnival (2025) and we facilitate monthly workshops from Southside Studios.
