Jay Delves

I think of the World Wide Web as a schizophrenic host of human worries and endeavours. I use it as a central source of inspiration about humanity. I make performances or films, and like to play with narrative through the layering of objects, props, people, movement, backdrops and text. My practice combines the aesthetics of movement and the meaning of words to comment on our behaviour. Influenced by choreography, I study the actions of human routine and make movement or spoken scripts that are trialled and edited through a process of composition. The end product is an assemblage of set and body aesthetics, pulled together for symbolic and aesthetic impact.
