Giulia Montalbano

Fuora Dance Project was founded by Federica Esposito and Giulia Montalbano in February 2014. In 2016, Giulia took over as the Artistic Director, and since then, Fuora has continued to create and present its repertoire at various venues and festivals, including:

Edinburgh Fringe 2015, Hidden Door Festival, DanceLive, Scottish Storytelling Centre, Resolution!!2015, Perth Dance Festival, Cottiers Dance Project and Streetland, CityMoves, London Bridge Live Arts Festival, Dance International Glasgow, Teatro Libero and Dundee Rep Theatre. Most recently, a National Scottish tour of W-hat About? visited The Gathering Showcase (The Touring Network), Diversity Week at Borders College (Live Borders in collaboration with NHS Scotland), Lochgelly Centre, Platform, Adam Smith Theatre, Dundee Rep Theatre, Cumbernauld Theatre, Eastgate Theatre, Pitlochry Festival Theatre, Mull Theatre, Arran High School Theatre and Brunton Theatre.

The company is always seeking to expand its horizons. It is open to creating new and demanding dance works through a continued focus on new physical forms with a theatrical perspective. Audience development and community engagement are key branches of the company's work. We are always working to introduce FDP to new audiences in different parts of Scotland to expand the geographical range of our work and to encourage different communities (including those who do not regularly engage with the arts) to feel that dance theatre can be accessible to them.
