My motivation as an artist is to enrich the wellbeing and lives of those with dementia or compromised health due to age-ing through creative interventions in movement and film. I have training in both film making and movement practice and have worked creatively in a community context for 20yrs.

I have been facilitating creative movement workshops with older people and those with dementia for 20years. In 2018 I established the ‘Dancing on the Ceiling’ workshops at Carehomes in Helensburgh. The workshops are sometimes where I meet individuals who I may subsequently develop and continue our relationship by making a film together, as with 'Creative Past, Present and Future.' The films are an opportunity for me to have a more intimate approach by working together. I am building a body of work that explores relationships, age-ing and dance with older people.

In September 2019 I began studying the part time MSc in Dementia Studies with Stirling University. The purpose of the studies is to deepen my creative work by enhancing my knowledge and experience in dementia theory, innovative and best practice, policy drivers and initiatives, and academic and research skills.
