Clare Adam

I am a Deaf dance artist, and through my work I strive to educate my audience about inclusivity. I have found that in the current dance community disabled representation and awareness are absent, because of this and my own experiences I have utilised dance in the last 13 months to showcase positive and immersive pieces that blend education with creativity to help explain disabled points of view that don't currently exist in the dance world.
Within my own style of dance I am driven to keep my work playful and experimental, using the most of the spaces around me to be as expressive as possible often using lots of floor work and always look to expand my vocabulary within the contemporary field. More recently I have been blending British Sign Language with my work showing how both movements can compliment and enhance one another whilst furthering my goal of education.
