International Day of Solidarity with The Palestinian People

Join The Work Room staff team throughout the afternoon in our green room in solidarity with Palestinian people in Gaza and throughout the world.

As part of this Disaster Plan & Stellar Quines are inviting people to drop in on their open rehearsal of 'The Gaza Monologues' between 12.30pm - 2pm. This is in recognition of the request from Ashar Theatre to perform this work in solidarity with the Palestinian People and all those who value justice, equality, and freedom for the Palestinian people.

About Ashtar Theatre

Throughout the afternoon, we will be remembering all the lives lost in the past months and the 75 years of occupation by engaging with the work of other Palestinian artists and writers and spending time with resources to further our understanding and support. Through reading and talking together we are keen to attend to what those of us in dance and performance can do - in our professional and personal lives - as part of the current international campaign for cease-fire and decades-long campaign for freedom.

Come throughout the afternoon, for as little or as long as you want, between 12pm-5pm. We will provide snacks, materials to make signs and banners for protest and a space to be in solidarity together.

We are collating links to Palestinian artists' work and to other resources that we will look at and read during the afternoon. If you are outwith Glasgow, or not able to attend in person, we can share these with you in advance. We would also love you to share with us anything that you are reading or engaging with that is helping your understanding.
