Sharing Practice with Sam Vaherlehto
The Work Room studio
Sunday 9 October | 1pm - 3.30pm
Sunday 4 December | 1pm to 3.30pm
Sam Vaherlehto will host two Sharing Practice sessions on Sunday afternoons in The Work Room studio. These will be a space to share methods, ideas, motivations, and creative potential. It is an open invitation to contribute ideas, processes, questions and conversation to refresh our practice.
The structure of the Sharing Practice sessions will begin with class, then a short break, before time sharing in creative tasks together. These will be guided and supported by Sam drawing on his experience as a facilitator, as a dancer working with many choreographers, rehearsal director and informed by his own creative practice. You may wish to bring a small creative task that you would like to try with others, or an idea to that just needs bounced around, or simply come to participate.
"I want to create an environment where everyone feels respected, with opportunities to contribute ideas, offer feedback, and even challenge our regular approaches. I’m keen to tap into the individual and collective expertise held by us all and making that knowledge accessible to others in the space. By offering each other open communication and honest feedback I hope we can inspire action through awareness. It will be a space to be silly or serious, playful or practical, and experience fun and freedom!"
