During this residency, I will explore the beginnings of a new production called Self/ish which explores gender, sexuality and identity in the 21st century, with a particular focus on what it’s like to be a young LGBTQ person at this moment in time. Throughout the residency, I will focus on the creation of new ideas with a team of 4 dancers working alongside a team of collaborators in sound, animation, dramaturgy and design. Together, we will look at ways of weaving each of the disciplines to form new ideas for this brand-new production. This work will be a follow up to my critically acclaimed production, Within This Dust, which explored the events of 9/11. Together, these productions question the state of the world today. The work is aimed at 12 to 15 year olds.
