Pro Class with Saffy Setohy

This is our co-run weekly, morning contemporary class with Barrowland Ballet, for the professional dance community in Glasgow on Thursdays and Fridays. The classes began in 2018 in response to the lack of professional-level contemporary dance classes in the city, providing a space for independent dance artists to come together to train and sustain practice. Thursday Class

We will begin with tuning into our surroundings and our senses, working with guided imagery and our materiality to cultivate our dancing awareness. We will then move into longer set sequences and travelling, taking up space and enjoying our musicality. 

Friday Class

We will begin with tuning into our surroundings and our senses, moving into dancing together and alone with guided imagery and our materiality. We may try ideas for a new social dance, informed by Saffy's current research residency with Claire Pencak into the archaeology and ecology of the Isle of Arran.
