This is our co-run weekly, morning contemporary class with Barrowland Ballet, for the professional dance community in Glasgow on Thursdays and Fridays. The classes began in 2018 in response to the lack of professional-level contemporary dance classes in the city, providing a space for independent dance artists to come together to train and sustain practice. Thursday class will focus on building dynamic flow and musicality, aiming to explore our individual movement potential in mindful and interesting ways. It will gradually build in intensity with the intention for us to find sweaty joy by the end. The class will be inspired by random imagery and music. It will include set sequences as well as some improvisation, all open to interpretation.
Friday class will focus on presence and energy generation, this will be through playful groupwork as well individual, more internal exploration. This class will be inspired by impulse and dynamic play and will mostly take the form of structured improvisation tasks. The main intention will be for what we do to feel good in the body and mind, for us to find new ways to move together.
Human Appeal run a campaign - Wrap Up Glasgow during October & November each year. Here at QPG we have collected coats, jackets, jumpers and warm clothing for the last few years. Would you like to join with us and other organisations donating items for this appeal which runs from now until the beginning of November.
Bagged used items of clothing can be left on the trolley in the church foyer. From there they will be taken to Safestore at Dixon Blazes to be sorted and distributed.
