Pro class with Emma Lewis-Jones
Kinning Park Complex
Guest Artist Emma Lewis-Jones | Friday 7 June | 9.30am to 10.45am | Kinning Park Complex
Emma Lewis-Jones is developing a movement practice rooted in her neurodivergent experiences of imagined bodily restrictions and the threads of memory from those visceral episodes. Through this practice, she aims to unravel the complexities of embodied memory, knotted with identity, and invite participants to join her in pulling at the thread. The class will have a focus on the thoracic spine, touch and repetition.
Emma is a contemporary choreographer and dance dramaturg. Her creative practice is guided by experiential anatomy and experimental interrogation of boundaries (social-cultural, personal, temporary or tangible) and trespass; informed by direct action. As a facilitator she is dedicated to supporting people to realise their own choreographic potential. Emma often works outdoors in public spaces and is always socially engaged.
