MOVEMENT AND SOUND SCORES WITH MELE BROOMES
Dance Base, Edinburgh
About the workshop
Sunday 10th September | 11:00 - 15 :00 (with lunch break)
FREE | BOOK HERE
This workshop will begin with a physical warm up, body conditioning and stretching. Following this we will start generating choreography through guided tasks and improvisations. The movement created will be used in the latter part of the workshop and accompanied by self-generated sound, voice, and text .
Using a TC Helicon, you will work with your own voice and text to create melodies and sound scores. TC Helicon is an electronic voice processor which augments the voice. It can be a great tool to support those who are less confident working with their own voice. It is also an exciting creative challenge for those more experienced working with vocals.
Mele will lead a vocal warm up, use a call and response technique and creative writing tasks.
