This Members Gathering follows on from the series of ‘What Next' conversations and members gathering across 2021 & 2022 - where we thought about the future of The Work Room together and shifts we might need to make in our programme to continue to support a sustainable environment for independent dance artists working in Scotland. It also follows the outcome of our Stage 1 application to Creative Scotland for Multi-Year Funding, as we move forward to Stage 2 application.
We’d like to invite members to join us in person or online on this day, as an opportunity to come together and input into conversations towards our plans moving forward.
The gathering event will be a space for TWR team to share the approach we are taking to shaping future plans in the application, reflecting the themes and concerns that have emerged from our membership over the past two years. We are keen to dig into the shifts that TWR needs to make to our programme & approaches to better enable a sustainable environment for independent dance artists in Scotland.
There will be space to participate in different ways
- to listen
- to share & discuss ideas in conversation or in writing
- to join in group discussions - or to sit with your own reflection
and if you'd rather move, there will also be space to dance alongside and 'with' whats being shared.
The afternoon will be shaped around two themes:
- evolving a more dispersed model for TWR - networked & connected, but less centrally held;
- strategies for slowing down - towards more sustainable working and de-growth that centres social and ecological justice

PLEASE NOTE: You can still register your attendance to attend in person or online up til the 23 March. However, we can't guarantee to meet dietary requirements or certain access requests received after 10 March.
ACCESS
We are able to cover travel costs from outwith Glasgow and also have some childcare bursaries available.
We can also support individual access requests eg. BSL Interpretation or live captioning.
