Healing Arts Scotland Glasgow Day
Across Tramway & Scottish Ballet Studios
Wednesday 21 August | 9:30 am - 4 pm | Across Scottish Ballet, Tramway & the Hidden Gardens
This will be a dynamic and participatory day, bringing together artists, communities, researchers, and academics to celebrate and explore the role of the arts in health. Hosted by Scottish Ballet, Tramway & the Hidden Gardens, the day will feature workshops, presentations and discussion from world renowned arts and health experts.
The programme includes a workshop with Indian dance artist Sangeeta Isvaran, founder of the Wind Dancers Trust. This workshop will carry learnings from Sangeeta’s 3 decades of work in using the arts in communities, in education, empowerment, conflict resolution and more. Through activities, games, movement and meditation she will share her work around the themes of Pedagogies from several traditional arts forms and philosophies of India; Play pedagogies; Healing and Love. Bursaries to attend the event:
Attending the event is free to everyone and can be booked through the link below. Thanks to funding from Creative Scotland, Scottish Ballet & The Work Room are able to offer 10 bursaries of £100 to freelance members to attend. We are also able to support travel expenses from anyone attending from outwith Glasgow & can contribute to personal access requests including support towards childcare.
To register your interest for the bursary, please email applications@theworkroom.org.uk by 5pm on Monday 5 August, with HEALING ARTS - GLASGOW DAY in the subject line. Please include in the email information on any travel or access cost requests. If we receive more interest than bursaries available, these will be allocated by random selection.

This is part of the Scotland-wide, Healing Arts Festival, a partnership between Scottish Ballet and the Jameel Arts & Health Lab in collaboration with the World Health Organisation.
Bursaries for freelance artists across any art form on any day of the festival
There are a further 15, £100 bursaries available to support freelance artists across any art form to attend Healing Arts Scotland activity in Edinburgh (Monday 19th and Tuesday 20th Aug), Glagow (21st Aug), Aberdeen (22nd Aug) and Island Events.
