Crip* Coffee Meet Up - with visiting artists Annie Hanauer and Laila White
The Work Room
Following our Crip* Coffee meet ups in 2023, TWR are pleased to invite our disabled, D/deaf, neurodivergent members and members with chronic illness or health conditions to Crip* Coffee Meet up Number 3.
This private, informal meet up will take place in The Work Room, Green Room from 3-4.30pm on Thursday 9 May.
Visiting artist Annie Hanauer will be joining us to talk together about practice and experience as disabled artists working in dance in the UK and internationally, ahead of her workshop ‘A Space for All Our Tomorrows’ on Friday.
Laila White who is dancer, visual artist and Annie's collaborator will also participate in the conversation.
The meetup is a chance for members to spend some ‘slow time’ alongside one another in crip* solidarity; sharing experiences, challenges; spoons and joy!
*Many self-identifying disabled people, particularly in arts and activism, have reclaimed ‘Crip’ as a term of solidarity, community, and resistance to able-ism; conveying shared understanding, celebration and appreciation of what it is to live in the world as a disabled person. This is the intention with which we use it here.
