The Work Room
A weave is in movement, research presentation.
Artist in Residence Mark Bleakley
Over the week I have been joined in and out of the studio with textiles researcher Jonathan Cleaver. My residency has been exploring the relationships between textiles, weaving and choreography. Over the past year or so I have been slowly exploring how I can bring ideas of weaving and my explorations of surface together. I am interested in ways both disciplines ideas of ‘treating’ space and surface overlap and possible useful connections through this.
In this initial research presentation, I will lead people around the physical material mapping out our research alongside some performed experiments. This is a very informal presentation with some time for chatting after.
3.00-3.20 Open space for watching and looking at material.
3.20-3.40 Performed experiments.
3.40-4.00 Time for reflection and discussion.
Drop in, no need to book but email hello@theworkroom.org.uk if you have any questions.
